Environmental
When it comes to the most essential things for our survival, air and water are at top of the list. Without air you cannot survive for more than 3 minutes and without water, we couldn’t live for more than 3 days to 5 days (depending on the research). Our environment has a lot to do with what affects our body. In the opinion of the experts that specialize in environmental factors, the most important element for our bodies is the ingestion of clean and filtered water. But, what is the actual definition of “clean water”? Clean water is water suitable for drinking and that is free of pathogens, but clean water isn’t what we really need. We need “safe water”. No one realizes how many times a day we are ingesting unsafe water, as well as showering in water that is loaded with chlorine, pharmaceuticals, fluoride, VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) and many other toxic substances. Everything that we drink such as; coffee, tea, soda, juice and all other soft drinks are all made with water. It is almost impossible to avoid all these toxins, but we can take proper precautions.

The best way to get the cleanest water for you and your family would be to purchase a whole house filtration system, but that is very costly which could run into the thousands of dollars. One simple and least costly way would be to use a shower filter. It is very easy to setup and does not require a plumber, just common handy man skills. There are various companies that make them available for your shower and range from $60.00 – $150.00 and that would filter out one chemical, such as chlorine, or multiple including pharmaceuticals. When we shower our body is exposed to all these toxins at a higher rate than if we were ingesting them on a daily basis.
The showers we take are mainly with hot water which in turn opens our pores to receive these chemicals right into the bloodstream. When drinking this poisonous water, we can at least filter some out through our liver, but when ingested daily over long periods of time, our livers become weak and our bodies are more prone to getting sick and becoming cancerous. Just the substance of chlorine in our water to kill pathogens is detrimental to our body. According to Dr. Joseph M. Price, MD, in Moseby’s Medical Dictionary, “Chlorine is the greatest crippler and killer of modern times. It is an insidious poison”. Stack on top of that fluoride, which is being put into our water without our consent, is corroding our pipes in our homes. This poison has also been linked to many problems, like the damaging of our arteries causing cholesterol to accumulate to repair the damage. In a new study published in the journal Nuclear Medicine Communications1, researchers found that fluoride may be associated with an increased cardiovascular risk as it causes hardening of your arteries.
